Hidden deep within the treacherous Underdark region known as Grymforge, this ancient mechanical marvel allows adventurers to craft exceptionally powerful gear. To successfully use its power, players must gather rare crafting materials and solve a unique environmental puzzle that culminates in a massive boss battle.

Locating the Necessary Components

Before you can initiate the forging process, you must explore the surrounding areas of Grymforge to discover specialized components. You will need to find distinct weapon or armor moulds scattered around the iron walkways and excavation platforms. Additionally, you must locate hidden veins of Mithral Ore, which serve as the primary raw material for your upcoming creations.

Preparing these items beforehand is crucial since the mechanism will not respond without both pieces in place. Adventurers should carefully look for blue glowing rocks containing the rare ore, as only a limited amount exists in the entire game. Once your inventory is packed with the correct moulds and ore pieces, you can safely proceed to the main console platform.

Loading the Core Mechanism

Operating the massive structure requires a precise sequence of actions to ensure the machine functions properly. First, approach the large central crucible and interact with it to insert a single piece of Mithral Ore. Next, navigate to the adjacent mould chamber container and place your chosen equipment template inside it.

After both items are successfully slotted into position, you must interact with the forge lever situated on the eastern edge of the main platform. Pulling this lever causes the entire system to lower deep into a volcanic chamber below. This shift sets the stage for the final mechanical process and triggers the appearance of the forge guardian.

Defeating the Guardian Grym

Flooding the arena with molten heat requires turning the large lava valve located near the center of the subterranean platform.
